We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Shanghai team to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between humans, technology, and business. At our company, UX Designers are integral from the project's inception, where we develop initial concepts to address specific challenges. This involves actively listening to stakeholders, understanding their needs, and critically assessing project briefs.
Upon consensus on a direction, the focus shifts to refining the concept: crafting information architecture, defining functionalities, and continuously testing concepts. This process evolves into a collaborative effort with UI designers and IT developers.
Key to success in this role is a keen awareness of evolving customer trends in the digital landscape, coupled with a high degree of empathy and a structured methodology for conveying and presenting information.
Requirements
User Research and Analysis:
Conducting user research through methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis.
Creating user personas and journey maps to represent user needs and behaviors.
Design Skills:
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, Axure, or similar.
Strong visual design skills, including a good understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools.
Interaction Design:
Designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces and interactions.
Creating and maintaining design systems and UI pattern libraries.
Information Architecture:
Organizing and structuring information in an intuitive and user-friendly manner.
Developing site maps, flowcharts, and navigation systems.
Collaboration and Communication:
Working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
Presenting and articulating design decisions clearly and effectively.
Facilitating design workshops and brainstorming sessions.
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:
Addressing complex design challenges and providing innovative solutions.
Balancing user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
Knowledge of UX Principles and Best Practices:
Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Understanding accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
Experience:
5-8+ years of professional experience in UX design or related fields.
Previous experience in a senior or lead UX design role is often required.
Portfolio:
A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UX design projects and processes.
Case studies that showcase problem-solving skills, design thinking, and the impact of the work.
Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), psychology, or a related field is usually preferred.
Some positions may require or prefer a master’s degree or additional certifications in UX design.
Language:
Fluent in English language
Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
Project Leadership:
Leading UX projects from concept to completion.
Mentoring and guiding junior designers and providing feedback on their work.
Strategy and Planning:
Defining and implementing UX strategies that align with business objectives.
Contributing to product strategy and roadmaps.
User Advocacy:
Championing user-centered design and advocating for the needs of the users throughout the product development process.
Conducting usability testing and iterating designs based on user feedback.
Documentation and Deliverables:
